New Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6 capabilities include automation and scalability for enterprise organisations and service providers. The vendor has also added multi-factor authentication (MFA) access to restore data, as well as adding a secondary copy of data in low-cost object storage.
Pamela Napier, manager of cloud for the UK and Ireland, Veeam Software, explained, “Data protection is now a strategic priority for organisations across the UK. One of the key challenges facing IT departments is undoubtedly supporting SaaS backups, which is why Veeam is extending its support to Office 365 customers with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 v6 – enabling users to securely back up to any location.
“Delivering time and cost savings for IT teams, Veeam Backup for 365 is our fastest growing SaaS product with YoY growth of 73 per cent and 8.5 million users. Therefore, supporting SaaS backup and understanding the challenges of doing so is a value-added service that offers competitive advantage to partner, enabling them to help customer organisations build a solid foundation for increased use of cloud services and digital transformation.”
Veeam released the first version of Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 in November 2016. The solution is designed for IT departments that use Microsoft 365, as well as Veeam Cloud and Service Provider (VCSP) partners who want to offer Microsoft 365 backup services to their customers.
