The new 715 entry-level model is the latest addition to the cutting-edge snom 7 series and includes all the features of the popular snom 710 plus provides protection for network performance and PC connections by providing a 1-Gigabit Ethernet switch through which data transfer takes place at up to 1,000 Mbit/s. An integrated USB port allows users by means of a WLAN connector to wirelessly connect their IP telephone to the network, to connect a Bluetooth headset using a USB Dongle or to comfortably charge a mobile terminal in the workplace.

The broadband HD audio system provides the crystal-clear connection quality that snom is well known for, via earpiece, headset, as well as using the hands-free function. The high quality audio is due to efficient noise suppression, recognition of speech pauses and the support of a wide range of audio codecs including broadband G.722.
The range of functions includes the ability to set up four independent SIP identities on a single handset. Four variable, context-sensitive function buttons under the four-line, lit black-and-white display enable intuitive navigation through the clear menu. Users can call up the last 100 missed, accepted or dialled calls and toggle up to four conversations. The snom 715 has five programmable function buttons, which can be used for functions such as to speed-dial frequently dialled numbers or to set up for call diversion at the push of a button. LED illumination of the visual status display means the user can immediately see whether the extension that they want to call using speed dial is currently on the phone or free.

The 715 handset will be distributed in the UK through the existing snom UK distribution partners ProVu Communications, Anixter, Electronic Frontier (EFL), Zycko and Westcon Communications.
