The new snom M-Series is designed to meet the needs of businesses requiring wireless coverage across several floors or throughout large buildings. The multicell DECT solution links multiple M700 base stations together, forming a seamless network to allow free movement between base stations. Initiated calls continue uninterrupted while moving from one station to the next. The M65 handset provides an elegant desktop solution combining versatile business communication functionality with the intuitive features of the mobile carrier world, the snom M65 is ideally suited to fast-paced professional telephony.
The first 3 products in the M-Series product range are the M700 VoIP cordless DECT multicell base station, the M65 DECT handset with wideband HD audio quality and the M5 DECT repeater. The M65 and M700 base station together deliver a wealth of features including voicemail, automatic call forwarding, call lists, caller identification, and direct search in the corporate directory.
The M-series multicell solution is easily scaled and expanded up to a maximum of 40 M700 base stations, 200 handsets, and 100 repeaters in the same network. The M5 repeaters with DECT encryption can be used to further increase reception range and to bridge gaps between base stations.
As with all snom products keen attention has been paid to the ease of deployment and provisioning and the base stations synchronize and install themselves; expensive additional controller hardware is not necessary. Multicell setup is easy and intuitive thanks to the integrated installation mode on the snom M65 handsets. Based on snom provisioning, the system is interoperable with all major VoIP systems.
Furthermore, in line with snom’s focus on telephony security this solution is designed to ensure there are no security issues: Wireless security is ensured by DECT encryption, while TLS and SRTP ensure secure SIP communication. Also no additional licenses are required.
