Nimans 'powers-up' with Atos

Nimans recently played a prominent role at Atos’ annual partner ‘Power-Up’ conference. The high profile event (formerly hosted by Unify) saw 350 industry guests gather to learn more about tech giant’s roadmap and future plans.

Nimans added to its growing industry pedigree by being highly commended in the Distributor of the Year category at the Budapest gathering, attended by Head of Channel Sales, Tom Maxwell and Head of Solutions Sales, John McKindland (pictured). Both agreed it was a very worthwhile three-day exercise which provided a valuable insight into Atos’ future strategy and plans for its UCC Unify brand.

Tom explained: “It gave us an insight into how we can engage better and make more opportunities for our mutual benefit and most importantly our customers.”

John added: “It’s very important for us to collaborate directly, sharing best practices and ideas which generates further opportunities.”

Delegates heard details of the strength of the Atos Group and learned about the continued evolution of the cloud in an increasingly network-driven IOT world - where on-premise data solutions will move to the forefront of communications technology.

In 2018, 23 billion devices are connected compared to 2025 when there will 75 billion. Even more stark is Atos’ prediction that 80% of data will move back into on-premise Edge Servers in a ‘post cloud era.’

John added: Atos are already looking five and 10 years ahead even beyond the 2025 ISDN UK switch-off. OpenScape Cloud and Circuit are ideally positioned to help resellers stay one step ahead of the game.”

Tom concluded: “Overall it was a great event and very worthwhile attending to better understand how the Unify / Atos businesses are progressing and how they are developing the channel along with key partners such as Nimans. The future is very exciting.”
