Manchester based Internet Infrastructure firm M247 announced today that it has achieved 63rd overall UK place, in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100. This is a league table, sponsored by Barclays Bank and Hiscox Insurance, that ranks Britain’s top 100 private tech (TMT) companies based on criteria such as an average 3-year sales growth ranging from between 40% to 280% per year.

For almost 10 years, the company, which owns two of the most green and efficient data centres in Europe, has been investing heavily in its growth and has 2013 draft sales figures hitting almost £8 million.

Technical Director Chris Byrd said “We are a well-capitalised private company and have put a lot of effort into ensuring we will be around well into the future. Our growth figures are indicative, not only of the growth in interest in business strength Internet products, such as our Cloud Infrastructure solutions, but the figures also show that we simply plough a lot of our profits back into the company to help feed our growth. Our R&D programme is expensive but necessary, as we need to keep ahead of the curve with new Internet technologies. Also, whereas some in our industry rent space for their data centres, our state of the art data centres are housed in buildings that we own; a costly commitment but one that demonstrates our investment in our future”.

M247 have also grown by acquiring a range of companies that fit into its business model. These companies, such as web hosting and data security specialists, have recently been rebranded and are now included in the range of services offered under the single M247 brand.

Chris Byrd continues, “We are extremely pleased that we have gained a good position in this prestigious league table. 63rd place in the whole of the country is something we can be proud of. We entered it and put it to the back of our minds while we got on with business as normal but, now that it’s been announced, its fired up a real buzz of enthusiasm here”.
