Ingram Micro held its inaugural VTN UK chapter meeting earlier this month attended by partners keen to discover the opportunities the exclusive network has to offer. The UK group’s next meeting is in May and members of the chapter will be gathering with their US VTN colleagues at Ingram Micro’s Spring Invitational event “IMOne”, in New Orleans in the same month.
The chapter, named “Apollo” following a democratic vote at the recent meeting, was praised by new member Mark Davies, sales and marketing director of Cobweb Solutions Limited: “I was delighted to be invited along to the inaugural UK VTN event and was pleasantly surprised at the openness and engagement with all attendees. There was a real sense of community and I’m already working on mutual business opportunities from the day, so I’m very positive.
“The commitment from the whole team at Ingram Micro was evident and their positive influence helped drive the mood amongst the attendees. Also, using Ingram Micro’s relationships with larger vendors should give VTN partners the opportunity to leverage more support than they would traditionally manage by themselves.”
Enzo Brienza, director of sales at RFL Communications plc, another new VTN member, recognised the opportunities for business growth within the programme: “I’d like to thank the team at Ingram Micro for their hospitality and the comprehensive content delivered at the recent kick off event. I found the meetings very useful in a number of areas and a great introduction to a very novel and exciting programme.
“We have some great objectives to cover in our chapter but my focus is on my business objectives which I trust will be accelerated with the help and assistance of Ingram Micro and the chapter members.”
Mark Williams, director at Wavex Technology Limited and president of Apollo said: “VTN really is what the channel has been looking for - a focused group of business owners and senior executives sharing ideas and opportunities to grow their organisations. The level of engagement and honesty was refreshing and is exactly what the community stands for.
“I am excited for our next session where we will focus on the specifics around inhibitors and enablers of growth in our complex market. Thank you to everyone, we have lift off.”
Apollo’s members have adopted NSPCC as its chosen charity. £2000 was raised at the kick off meeting and the children’s charity will feature heavily in the group’s activities going forward.
