Kevin Greener has recently joined Sunderland-based CCS, which works with a variety of top national and regional brands, including Umbro, Russell Hobbs, Sunderland AFC and Hays Travel.
With more than 27 years’ sales experience in the telecoms industry Kevin aims to increase CCS’ customer base by building on the company’s reputation for excellent client service.
Kevin said: “CCS is a company with real heritage and is one of the most well-established IT and telecoms firms in the North East, which is one of the reasons I was attracted to this role.
“Another is the retention rate, both for customers and staff, with many of our clients having been with us for more than 10 years, which is pretty unheard of in this industry and shows we are definitely doing something right.
“IT and telecoms is a sector which is always evolving and my role is to ensure CCS keeps up with that and builds on its fantastic foundations to bring in new customers, both here in the North East and across the UK.”
Established in 1986, CCS supplied and installed the first mobile phone for business in the North East and currently provides a variety of B2B telecommunications and IT technology, including mobile phones, IT products and services, desktop support and telephony platforms.
CCS’ average customer tenure is over 10 years and the company is Nike’s only third party telecoms reseller worldwide, with other long standing customers including Newcastle International Airport and Flymo.
Kevin will head up a sales team of six business development managers and two telemarketers, with plans to expand the sales team in line with new business wins.
A focus on vertical markets and partnership working will form the basis of Kevin’s sales growth strategy, with a mix of new technology-based techniques combined with more traditional methods.
Kevin said: “Social media is a great tool for raising brand awareness and making new business connections and is something we encourage our team here to use on a regular basis. At the same time, I’m still a firm believer in picking up the phone and speaking to people.
“I’m really keen to focus our attention on the North East initially – we have built up a strong reputation in this region and I want to use that to attract new business. If our customers are happy with our service, they will recommend us to their partners and this is an area I’m really keen to explore.”
