Utilising the vast space of the Royal Horticultural Halls in Victoria to create a flowing exhibition circuit, a business lecture theatre and two tech lounges, the B2B managed services company presented its evolving device to data centre proposition.
“Once again we took what we knew our customers wanted to learn about and developed a rich programme of seminars and demonstrations,” explained Edward Spurrier, Alternative’s CEO.
The day kicked off with an engaging and entertaining address from Lord Professor Robert Winston, who discussed how human interaction and collaboration is evolving as a result of technology.
A series of business seminars then followed on relevant topics, including a fascinating talk on the competitive use of technology from Microsoft’s Chief Envisaging Officer, Dave Coplin; a discussion on ‘the secret life of the network’ from Extreme Networks; and how to turn ‘dead time into business value’ from desktop virtualisation and networking specialist Citrix. At the same time, technology studios ran hands-on workshops hosted by Alternative’s product partners.
“At Alternative we differentiate ourselves in designing fresh, relevant and effective solutions based on our customers’ required business outcomes,” explained Ed Spurrier. “This is an approach which is very much echoed in the events we hold, and fusionLIVE was therefore not merely another technology event, but a business event.”
