T-Mobile’s MDA Vario II claims to be the first handset available in the UK to be fully HSDPA-enabled, providing connection speeds of up to 1.8mbps for high-quality web access, video calling and email.
The Vario II is T-Mobile’s version of the HTC TyTN, a Windows Mobile handset with a slide-out QWERTY keypad. It’s Web’n’Walk-enabled, providing customers with simple, open Internet access. The device is pre-installed with a web browser that ensures that users can view web pages as they could on their PC.
For areas that are not currently covered by T-Mobile’s HSDPA network, the Vario II automatically connects to WiFi or GPRS at the fastest possible speed.
T-Mobile says the most a customer would pay is £299, depending on
price plan.
