Sony Ericsson have announced a budget alternative of their fashion clamshell Z610. The Z310 features a similar external display under shiny surface.
Sony's new budget handset also features a row of system icons that flash up when a new event takes place.
The design of the clamshell otherwise follows the style of the Sony Ericsson Z-line up but adds to it with a intriguing keypad, similar to the one used in the high-end Sony Ericsson W950 mobile.
The new tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE folder comes equipped with a 65K STN main display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a secondary monochrome external display. It also features a VGA camera and Bluetooth and would have 14MB of internal memory.
An innovative feature are the colorful light effects that may be assigned to a certain phonebook contact and would let you know who's calling literally in a flash.
Besides that, the stylish Sony Ericsson Z310 would also be capable of changing preset wallpapers and themes according to the different times of day.
