Orange cheekily charge business users to have their mobiles work at, erm, work by installing a VoIP solution on the SME’s broadband – genius.
After a device trial in Switzerland, where the country is flat and the buildings made from wood, Orange have decided to launch Picocells, no, not cartoon characters in the work place, but, a low powered business base station referred to as Oranges’s Onsite Coverage.
Expected some time next year, Orange is the first network to charge for boosting its signal through the companies own businesses broadband.
Peecachoo will run both GSM and GPRS allowing 50 employees to receive the boosted signal via a single base station.
Although no additional charge for usage over standard mobile rates, the service will attract a monthly charge for each of the office base stations.
