Look and Feel:
Understated and classy design in matt-finish aluminium, maybe a bit big for a woman’s hand, substantial without feeling too heavy – looks and feels the business.

Externals:
Wide Blackberry-style QWERTY keyboard, generous display; uncluttered by camera controls. Useful ‘mail received’ light on front, volume controls and voice recorder button on side.
9/10
Keyboard:
Looks cramped but isn’t – thumbboard has comfortably, clear, well-organised keys with good white backlight. Navigation keys and joystick are large and easy to use.
8/10
Display:
Excellent 2.8in landscape display with rich colours and crisp images.
9/10
Memory:
Ok – 60MB on board, plus a hot-swappable Memory Stick Duo card supplied (64MB supplied).
7/10
Camera:
No, not even for video calls (so just what is 3G for then?)

Email:
Brilliant – POP3 plus all major push email protocols including Blackberry, all installed or downloadable. The email alert LED is a great idea; so is the way Nokia’s connection manager shows per-session data usage.
9/10
Business Apps:
Nokia Office apps (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) does a reasonable job of producing and reading MS-Office docs. Good printer output options. No PDF reader on board, though.
8/10
In Use:
Rock-solid signal reception and voice calls. 3G and WiFi both work well, email is exemplary (though Seven is sometimes a bit iffy).
9/10
Extras:
VoIP calling over WiFi. Internet messaging. Free four-month Telmap Navigator trial pre-installed (you need a GPS receiver of course). MP3 player, good file manager.
9/10
WE LIKE:
• Push email connectivity (who needs Blackberry?)
• Excellent keyboard
• Solid, professional feel
WE DON’T LIKE:
• S60 user interface doesn’t always suit wide screen
• Only USB 1.1 (slower than 2.0)
• Inconvenient miniSD card slot
Overall:
Total connectivity – does everything well in that department. Some quibbles, but it’s still a great buy (and an easy sell).
