The latest Nokia to be aimed at the first-time user is expected to retail for a bargain €45 before subsidies or taxes. That buys a successor to the 1110 and 1112, and it’s about as straightforward as they come: dual-band GSM, no ringtone downloading, and certainly no camera, Bluetooth, email or MP3 player.
What you do get is a simple 80g handset with 3-5 hours talk time and 10-15 days standby, and Nokia is promising “a number of cost management features” to help people monitor their phone usage.
