Microsoft push email looks pricey

US analysts J. Gold Associates have found that Microsoft’s long-awaited BlackBerry-beating push email may not be that attractive because of the wholesale software updates involved. Around half of existing Exchange users will not be able to take advantage of the updates because they are not running Microsoft Exchange 2003; typically they are smaller companies, and suggests they will eschew the high upgrade cost (between $500 and $1,000 per user) in favour of a non-Microsoft alternative.• Vodafone
