Look and feel:
Brilliant. Slim, light (83g) and elegant, smart finish, very comfortable in the hand, and the slider feels as good any Samsung’s. Watch the touch-sensitive navigation and soft ‘keys’ light up red when the cover opens ... As ever, the high-gloss body shows fingerprints
9/10

Externals:
Uncluttered around the edges (tiny keys for volume, power on/off,
camera/MP3: cover for proprietary USB/charger socket) and
on the surface (touch-sensitive areas for navigation around the
raised central rectangle).
810

Keyboard:
Number pad has surprisingly large, usable, easy-read keys. Touch-sensitive navigation needs a delicate touch, but you quickly get used to it.
8/10

Display:
Excellent colour and contrast – good in sunlight – though the screen is not large by today’s standards (176x220).
8/10

Memory:
128Mb, good for about 40 tracks. But there’s no expansion at all.
7/10

Camera:
Weakest point – 1.3 megapixel, 2x zoom, still and video modes, flashlight.
Some settings can be adjusted but pictures are only average.
7/10

MANAGING MUSIC:
Simple interface with single playlist. Simple copying from PC via USB; the phone looks like any removable drive.
8/10

PLAYING music:
Headphones are surprisingly good, and there’s a 3.5mm jack socket
on the remote for your own phones. Equalizer presets do make a difference.
8/10

In Use:
Small side keys and highly sensitive touch controls take some getting used to  (if you have sausage-style fingers). Average call performance.
8/10

Extras:
USB cable and sync software in the box with suedette pouch. Nice packaging all round, in fact. And a good Soduko game is included.
8/10

WE LIKE:
• Size, shape, weight, glossy black finish
• Enough memory to store music, reasonable playing interface
• Those fab touch-sensitive ‘keys’

WE DON’T LIKE:
• Camera could be better
• Oversensitive touch protection to prevent accidental presses
• No snooze on alarm function, and it won’t override silent setting

OVERALL:
A great phone – solid spec, lovely design.
Easy to use, easy to sell
