Friday sees the closing of the nominations stage for executive positions within the Independent Mobile Phone Dealers Association 12 months after its inception on our very own forum.
Four executive positions are being appointed in the coming weeks, with the first stage nearly at a close. Come 6pm this Friday all nominations will be counted to be put forward for voting by phone dealers.
The positions are:
Chairman
The Role will entail liasing with and giving interviews to the Media i.e. BBC & BBC Radio, Being quoted in the press, as well as National Newspapers.
The Chairman will also give direction to the IMPDA and talk to various bodies Ofcom etc informing them of the organisation, and promoting the IMPDA to other dealers and interested parties.
The Chairman will work towards obtaining through the IMPDA a level playing field with the networks, distributors and other parties, where unfair competition ocurrs.
The position of Chairman is not to be taken lightly, and his/her job to promote the aims and asperations of dealers, and to attract as many dealers in the UK as possible, and to work towards being a pressure group for dealers.
Administrator
The Role will entail liasing with the Chairman who will at times give interviews to the Media i.e. BBC & BBC Radio,as well as National Newspapers.
The Administrator takes over when the Chairman is not available and will continue to give direction to the IMPDA and talk to various bodies Ofcom etc informing them of the organisation, and promoting the IMPDA to other dealers and interested parties.
The Administrator will look after the IMPDA web site, and liase with other members. Should documents or other material be required then the Administrator will prepare them for release. The Administrator will take care of the IMPDA on a day to day basis.
Press Relations
The Role will entail liasing with the media in aspects of the IMPDA, you will be required to talk to and prepare statements from the IMPDA, to liase with the Chairman and Administrator and members.
Other than the chairman, the press relations will be the only other to speak to the press/media and to co-ordinate press releases where required.
Memberships
The Role will entail checking new requests for membership of the IMPDA. As the name implies it is membership for the dealers, however the IMPDA at this time does allow membership by distributors, however it will be up to memberships if they wish that to continue.
Memberships, should check on requests with companies house, and also check web sites including telephoning the applicant.
Applications from consultancys or those companies which provide services to dealers etc are NOT allowed membership, as especially on forums, their only purpose is to sell their services to dealers and they do not have an interest in dealers aims for change. The orangisation is for dealers/distributors alone no others.
Memberships, should send acceptance or rejection letters or email to applicants, and ensure that their usernames and passwords if required are generated and sent.
