Intempo Digital is best known for mass-market consumer products like DAB radios and iPod accessories, and the Buddy is only a slight diversion – it’s a satnav device aimed very specifically at a female consumer.
So on the outside is a pink casing with butterflies and flowers; and operation is claimed to be super-easy (“just stick it in the car and never get lost again”). Inside it’s powered by Destinator Technologies software, so the maps and the search function are good. Buddy features a 3.5-inch touchscreen, power is via battery or car charger, and the usual address search options are available – though Intempo and Destinator missed a trick by not including shops among the Points of Interest.
