Wipro to offer AWS data lake service

Cloud Data
Wipro Limited is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offer customers Amazon Security Lake. This new offering provides enterprises with intelligent security data to increase visibility and reduce threats.

Amazon Security Lake was launched at AWS re:Invent and allows customers to build a security data lake from integrated cloud and on-premises data sources as well as from their private applications.

The product makes use of the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) standard and helps customers make their security solutions data accessible. This can address a variety of security use cases such as threat detection, investigation, and incident response.

Wipro is working with AWS to aggregate data from various security sources including Wipro Cloud Application Risk Governance (CARG) to build security use cases for Amazon Security Lake. This should help organisations collate, manage, and derive intelligence and value from log and event data in the cloud and on-premises to give security teams greater visibility across their organisations.

Customers can use the security and analytics solutions of their choice to query data or ingest the OCSF-compliant data to address further use cases.

Tony Buffomante, senior vice president and global head, cybersecurity and risk services, Wipro Limited, explained, “Amazon Security Lake helps customers optimise security log data retention by optimising the partitioning of data to improve performance and reduce costs. Now, cloud security analysts and engineers can easily build and use a centralised security data lake to improve the protection of workloads, applications, and data.

“Wipro works with AWS to transform the modern enterprises by providing outcome-based cloud security solutions, delivery excellence and continuous innovations using various AWS native security capabilities.”

Wipro also announced the launch of Wipro Data Intelligence Suite at AWS Re:Invent today. This solution aims to accelerate cloud modernisation and data monetisation.

The Wipro Data Intelligence Suite runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and is focused on modernising data estates, including data stores, pipelines and visualisations.

The new offering is designed to provide reliable and secure means to migrate from existing platforms and fragmented legacy systems to the cloud.

Sudhir Kesavan, global head of cloud transformation, Wipro, said, “Today, cloud architectures are enabling companies to transform their legacy systems, allowing them to develop business innovations, optimise costs, and enhance agility.

“We’re excited to put these benefits in reach for our clients using Wipro’s FullStride Cloud Services’ full-stack approach in collaboration with AWS.”
