AdEPT was formed in January 2003 and employs 340 staff across nine offices in London, Tunbridge Wells, Northampton, Fleet, Chingford, St Neots, Dorking, Orpington, and Doncaster.
The combination of Wavenet and AdEPT will create a business with revenues totalling £200 million and offering IT managed services across cybersecurity, unified communications connectivity, and voice solutions.
Ian Fishwick, chairman of AdEPT, said, “Today after 20 years, along with the rest of the Board, I resigned as a director of AdEPT Technology Group to be replaced by nominees from Wavenet. It is the end of an era and a quite remarkable journey.
“Many things happened that I never expected at the start. I never thought we would end with our industry peers at the Comms Business Awards naming us as UK Managed Services Provider of the Year, not once, but two years on the run. It is a quite remarkable achievement of which all stakeholders should feel rightly proud.
“Thank you to all our fantastic employees, both current and past. You have been a pleasure to work with. Right from the start we referred to our key suppliers as partners. All too often, the relationship with suppliers is adversarial, based on trying to get the lowest prices possible. We believe that the whole supply chain has to be able to make money if we are to create an environment where we all want to help each other grow.
“Thank you to everyone at our key partners for their help over the years. We must never forget that customers pay our wages and we have had some fantastic customers for many years. We appreciate your custom and have probably never told you that often enough. I hope our story provides inspiration for another generation of entrepreneurs.”
Bill Dawson, chief executive officer, Wavenet (pictured), said, “I am delighted to announce the combination of the AdEPT business with the Wavenet Group. I have huge respect for the leadership of Ian Fishwick and the significant achievements of the AdEPT team.
“We look forward to working with the AdEPT team as part of the Wavenet Group and driving growth by focusing on the best of both Wavenet and AdEPT’s skills and services. I am also grateful for the support of AdEPT's largest shareholder, Christopher Kingsman, who has been very supportive of this proposed transaction since the beginning.”
