Virgin Media O2 has announced a significant upgrade to its mobile network in Derby, after completing work to improve signal and services in more than 1,500 postcodes since the beginning of the year.
The operator’s substantial investment to upgrade connectivity in Derby has provided residents and businesses with access to fast and reliable mobile services.
The enhanced 4G and 5G network capacity means that customers in Derby now receive improved mobile connectivity, making it easier to access essential online services, work remotely, stream content on the go or stay connected with friends and family.
This comes against a backdrop of rising demand, with the amount of mobile data consumed by Virgin Media O2 customers increasing 26 per cent in 2023.
Steven Verigotta, director of mobile delivery at Virgin Media O2, said, “With customers using more data than ever before, the improvements we’ve made at over 1,500 postcodes in Derby will ensure local people and businesses can access reliable connectivity that is so essential in the modern world. We are continuing to invest in our network with future upgrades planned to ensure that we can continue to support our customers both now and in future.”
