Hot on the heels of its Everycloud merger in the summer, founder and director Tim Mercer has been appointed chief executive officer of the enlarged business. And under his direction the business has swiftly recruited into the cloud-focused organisation and developed an enhanced cloud portfolio for channel partners and SMBs.
Formerly of Virgin Media, Mercer has been an early adopter and evangelist of cloud in the channel, and is the architect of the Vapour Media private network. He is now playing a leading role in cloud roll-out within the channel and small business community and is keen to take on some of the industry’s bigger names with the development of Vapour’s new Cloudware range.
The business’s technical team of cloud experts – strengthened in the merger with Everycloud - has developed a new portfolio of products built on Vapour’s cloud platform in its UK-based data centres.
The secure, private and managed range that has been developed includes storage, hosted servers and managed back-up. Delivered over Vapour’s cloud platform, the services are procured through a client self-serve portal, meaning additional servers and storage can be managed and activated in a matter of minutes. In addition, the team will shortly be launching details of its “Dropbox alternative” file share and collaboration product.
Delivered on the business’s own private network, the team is intent on helping partners to compete and is offering 20% off the entire Cloudware range, as well as access to the Vapour team of cloud sales and support specialists.
In addition, and following the summer merger activity, the Vapour team has two added new faces to the business with experienced telecoms and IT executive Paul Goodrick joining the business development team and Liz McNulty joining as an apprentice. Two further business development executives are to join the team in January.
