TXO has promoted Simon Wort as chief executive officer, taking the reins from Darren Pearce who will join the board of directors as a non-executive director.
Wort (pictured) joined the sustainable telecom network solution provider from ITS Technology Group earlier this year. He joined as CCO with a background in global, privately owned, and private equity-backed organisations.
TXO said that Wort’s experience as both a CEO and CCO in the technology and telecom sectors was a key factor in his initial recruitment. In his new role, Wort brings international commercial leadership, a deep understanding of market dynamics and proven merger and acquisition experience.
Darren Pearce, who had been CEO since 2016, will continue to support and guide the company’s strategic initiatives as a non-executive director.
Kevin Taylor MBE, chairman of the board, commented, “We are thrilled to appoint Simon to the role of CEO. His dedication and strategic insight have already made a significant impact on our company.
“As we move forward, Simon’s leadership will be instrumental in driving our ambitious growth plans and reinforcing our commitment to sustainability. This new chapter for TXO is not just about continuing our success but about expanding our impact globally.”
Reflecting on his appointment, Wort said, “I am incredibly excited to take on this new role. Over the past six months, I have seen firsthand the strength of our organisation and the incredible potential we have in the market.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with the team to continue our journey towards making a significant difference for our customers, the environment, and all our stakeholders.”
In recent years, TXO has shifted to focus on end-to-end circular telecom network solutions and services. The company has made multiple acquisitions and senior leadership appointments as it looks to become a trusted partner for operators and OEMs all over the world.
