With the new service, businesses can schedule, manage and adjust penetration tests based on their business priorities and security needs using the Trustwave TrustKeeper cloud-based portal which may be managed by the channel partner. The penetration tests will be carried out using toolsets developed by Trustwave ethical hackers and techniques that are traditionally deployed by cybercriminals to evade and probe existing security protection.
As part of the service, resellers and their customers will be able to schedule penetration tests throughout the year at their convenience and receive comprehensive reports that highlight vulnerabilities within their networks and applications, as well as prioritise risks associated with those vulnerabilities and suggest remedial actions to mitigate those risks. The service is part of the Trustwave Managed Security Services portfolio that also includes Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Network Access Control (NAC), Unified Threat Management, Web Application Firewall, Intrusion Prevention/Detection and authentication/encryption solutions.
According to Brooks Wallace, Vice President of UK Sales at Trustwave, “This is a huge opportunity for resellers not only because it opens up a new service revenue opportunity to them, but also because it allows them to develop an in-depth knowledge of the customer’s IT infrastructure and sell security solutions based on specific vulnerabilities found in that customer’s environment. Identifying actual evidence of vulnerabilities found in their environment should make it easier to get board-level sign-off on security budgets and help the channel to become trusted security partners to their enterprise clients.”
