The competition is open to any UK-based company working in the mobile industry that can demonstrate a new product or service that has the potential to change the way people use mobile across the world. The winner will be crowned The UK’s Most Innovative Mobile Company at Mobile World Congress 2013 – the industry’s largest exhibition.
The 2012 competition saw almost 80 companies vie for the accolade of The UK’s Most Innovative Mobile Company, with the four finalists, blippar, DataWind, P2i and QRpedia giving spirited final presentations at Mobile World Congress. The title was awarded to visionary company DataWind, and Russell Buckley, ex-AdMob executive and one of the 2012 Smart UK Project judges, said “We were very impressed by the quality of all the finalists, it was a tough decision.”
Nominations for The UK’s Most Innovative Mobile Company are open now until Wednesday, 31 December 2012. Shortlisted companies will win pitching support, a place at a media networking event before Mobile World Congress and global exposure through various media channels.
The finalists will feature at Mobile World Congress where they will present their company to an expert panel of judges. The UK’s Most Innovative Mobile Company will be announced on 27 February at Mobile World Congress 2013.
