The role of Patron involves supporting the organisation’s strategy in making a significant contribution to the IT and telco industry sectors. The Patron will help to share insights, experiences and other leadership perspectives which will filter down across the ITP’s member offerings, which include professional and career development, mentoring, professional registration and training.
In his current role, Mansoor is responsible for ensuring that Ofcom remains at the forefront of understanding the implications of existing technology and the latest technological developments in the telecoms and media sectors both in the UK and internationally. Prior to this, he held senior positions at BT, Orange, EE and Vodafone and is an advisory board member for UK5G.
Mansoor commented: “I look forward to working closely with the ITP helping it to become ‘the hub’ for the information and communication industry. The focus is on taking its work forward and collaborating with regulators, government associations and other leading bodies on a wide variety of projects that are important to the future of the industry.”
The new role follows the retirement of current patron, Sir Mike Rake, this year. ITP CEO Crissi Williams adds “We are thrilled to have Mansoor on board at this pivotal time for our organisation, and the industry at large. Our vision includes supporting the industry to bridge the current UK skills gap and we welcome his input and expertise with our own apprenticeship scheme and initiatives.”
