The Centre hosts hundreds of events each year and the additional bandwidth will allow it to provide organisers of meetings, events and conferences with their own dedicated Internet connectivity. The connection also offers visitors and delegates to the Centre stronger and more reliable Wi-Fi coverage. The Brighton Centre has met future delegate needs by ensuring that the connection can be seamlessly increased to 1 Gbps (Gigabit per second) when needed.
Howard Barden, General Manager, The Brighton Centre, commented: “We facilitate events of all different shapes and sizes and compete against the UK’s major venues in London, Manchester and Birmingham. It doesn’t matter if it’s a concert, business meeting or political party conference; everyone wants reliable Internet connectivity as this underpins the digital and interactive nature of events in the 21st century. This capacity increase allows us to partition sections of our bandwidth and then dedicate that chunk to a specific service such as dedicated Internet for an event. This investment follows on from our extensive refurbishment which was completed at the start of the year and reinforces our position as one of the UK’s leading conference venues. “
Lee Wade, CEO, Exponential-e, commented: “We are delighted to be working with The Brighton Centre and Exponential-e is proud to be a part of the recent enhancements it has made. We’re seeing a growing number of hospitality venues from The Brighton Centre to major football clubs, recognising the role of technology in enhancing guest and visitor experience.”
The scalable service is used for multiple services including internal applications and Wi-Fi and seals The Brighton Centre’s reputation as one of the UK’s premier conference venues.
