Sunday Times Top Track ranks Softcat 48th

The Sunday Times has ranked Softcat at 48th position in 2013’s Top Track list of the 250 top-performing UK businesses. Softcat’s chairman Martin Hellawell and managing director Colin Brown attended the awards last week at a ceremony in London. The Times attributed the position to the recent company expansions and ‘strong year-on-year sales’.

The Sunday Times Top Track 250 league table vets and ranks the UK’s leading mid-market businesses in order of turnover, and companies require a minimum of 10% growth to rank at all. The list is compiled by Fast Track and sponsored by Grant Thornton and Barclays. Softcat’s ranking is a testament to this financial year’s turnover and 30% growth, following a three-year growth stint that has seen revenues climb from £146m to £400m.

Commenting on the ranking, Martin Hellawell said, “I am delighted to enter the top 50 of the Top Track for the first time. There are some fantastic companies on that list, many of them are Softcat customers. It's tremendous for Softcat to be recognised in such esteemed company. A few years ago we were named as the number one company in the Sunday Times ‘Best Company to Work For’ list. We have to aspire to be number one in the Sunday Times Top Track now!”

Colin Brown, managing director, said, “We’ve invested heavily in building strong teams and as a result we’ve won business deals with the NHS, local government and other public services this year, which have all had a positive impact on revenue growth. I’d like to thank our hardworking employees for their on-going enthusiasm and dedication. Having joined Softcat a year ago, I can say with conviction that it’s the most motivated, results-driven workforce I’ve encountered – and the most fun.”

The Sunday Times is not the only body to recognise Softcat for its business achievements this year. Softcat has won several partner awards and accreditations as a result of its performance. Last week it announced the attainment of HP’s Platinum Partner status, and won the Canalys EMEA Revenue Partner of the Year award.
