The opening marks the completion of a major investment programme by Sabio to redevelop its advanced customer contact centre at Tontine House in Gordon Street. Over the last five years Sabio has more than doubled the number of staff in its Glasgow Support Centre. The company’s distinctive combination of technical excellence and operational expertise delivers award-winning levels of service for organisations such as Business Stream, Brewin Dolphin, DHL, Indigo Lighthouse Group, Leeds City Council, Pitney Bowes, Scottish Widows, Student Loans, Thames Water and Yorkshire Building Society.
Mr. Ewing enjoyed a tour of Sabio’s refurbished Support Centre, meeting members of the 65-strong Sabio team, many of whom have worked with the company in Glasgow for more than ten years. Sabio prides itself on providing a strong career progression, and more than 60 percent of the company’s Support Centre staff have been promoted internally.
In addition to opening the centre, Mr. Ewing also viewed the innovative, zero-emissions hydrogen fuel system - supplied by Linnet Technology - that Sabio will use to deliver seamless UPS backup power capabilities for its comprehensive Intelligent Connect and Remote Monitoring services.
Andy Roberts, Sabio’s Commercial Director, said “We are delighted to welcome Fergus Ewing MSP to the official opening of Sabio’s new Support Centre. Continuing to develop and expand our operation in Glasgow makes good business sense for Sabio, and is testament to the quality of staff available to support our requirement for the highest levels of technical and operational expertise.
“Sabio is unusual in that we offer in-depth support across a range of advanced contact centre technologies - all from under one roof, so we have to deliver an exceptional performance. We’re proud that our Glasgow team is able to resolve an industry-leading 93 percent plus of incidents in-house, and we’re now supporting the needs of Sabio customers in over 37 countries worldwide,” he continued.
Enterprise Minister Fergus Ewing added “Scotland is the most supportive environment for business in the UK, and the Scottish Government and its agencies are working to ensure that our ambitious, innovative companies like Sabio can thrive and capitalise on opportunities at home and in new international growth markets.
“I am delighted that Sabio is showing its commitment to Scottish skills and expertise by investing in its state-of-the-art service centre in the heart of Glasgow, and I welcome Sabio’s decision to invest in the innovative, low carbon hydrogen fuel cell system developed by Linnet Technology and Auriga Energy to provide back up power to their Glasgow operation,” he added.
