Reboxed announces circularity-as-a-service offering

Reboxed has announced the launch of ReboxedOS.

ReboxedOS is a circularity-as-a-service solution that allows businesses to offer resale, trade-in, and recycling programmes, without having to build their own infrastructure.

The ReboxedOS service offering includes: a co-branded resale platform and digital trade-ins; the ability to turn returns into revenue with refurbishment and repair solutions; marketing and customer service support; and support to measure sustainability impact and commercial data.

Reboxed works with clients in the telecom sector including Three Mobile, with which it launched a refurbished technology offering for customers of Smarty, Three’s sim-only brand.  The company has also partnered with Lebara Mobile and Airtime rewards to provide circular solutions for customers.

Phil Kemish, CEO, Reboxed, said, “With ReboxedOS, we’re reducing tech waste and empowering brands to embrace circular commerce. By offering up to 50 per cent savings on tech, brands can enhance customer lifetime value while promoting sustainability.

“Consumer demand for refurbished tech and trade-ins is outpacing traditional retail. Recommerce is now essential for brands to drive growth, engagement, and loyalty.”

Ollie Carrier, senior commercial manager, Three Mobile, added, “Reboxed has been instrumental in enhancing our customer engagement and sustainability efforts.

“Its solutions have not only extended our customer tenure but also delivered considerable environmental benefits.”

Reboxed was founded in 2019 by Kemish and his friend Matt Thorne. It aims to rehome 100 million devices. The company initially launched as a direct-to-consumer marketplace but, after being approached by retailers, it created a suite of recommerce services.

The company recently published a Future of Circular Electronics Report which found that 57 per cent of Gen Z customers consider resale value before buying new lifestyle items. The full report can be found here
