The dedicated hosted desktop gives users the option to download their own software into the hosted desktop and can guarantee up to 4 vCPU and 8MB VRAM for power users. The new release joins the existing shared hosted desktop offering. These options enable The Portable Office Company's partners to offer their customers a unique cloud-based Hosted Desktop product set backed up by Wipro – a systems integrator that holds some of the industry’s highest accolades for quality and service – and its engineering resource and expertise.
The fully automated distribution portal and customer-facing ‘lead to cash’ app store sets new standards in hosted asset management and is fully supported at every level. Fixed price data migrations are also part of the service catalogue on offer which are carried out by POC’s infrastructure partner Wipro.
"This is the final piece in the puzzle for the channel. Our product is already available for distribution through our partners to over 2000 resellers and our goal is to continue increasing our market share until 25% of all desktops being deployed in the UK are serviced through POC software. We have removed the barriers to adoption for our partners by offering full automation of provisioning and management, and have built an end customer support tool so partners and resellers don’t even need to ‘staff up’ to be able to resell the product. Coupled with the above we also offer fixed price (per seat) data migration and static persistent and non-persistent desktops, we believe we have the most compelling channel solution on the market today.” Peter Melhuish, CEO Portable Office Company
The Portable Office Company Hosted Desktop has built the tools for channel around the enterprise-grade Wipro solution and offers white label management portal, direct end customer support, app store and fixed cost managed migrations.
Graham Harris, Connectivity Director, Daisy Group said:
“The release of these new Persistent Hosted Desktops will enable us and our partners to offer greater choice to customers and satisfy a far greater range of technical requirements. The ability to build multiple user profiles within a company means the service can be deployed even for heavy multimedia use. As this can be controlled on a per user basis it’s also possible to keep costs low by mixing and matching the desktops and reducing the specification at as customer level when application usage permits. The experience and knowledge of the Portable Office Company’s team and the technical back up from Wipro means I can be completely confident when taking these services out to market. ‘’
