CMHC, which supports the Countess Mountbatten Hospice in Southampton, presented Onecom its award for Fundraising Charity Partnership of the Year (over 50 employees) at its Corporate Awards evening.
The award comes after a year during which staff at Onecom, based in Whiteley and with offices around the UK, raised £6,492 for CMHC.
Support came from throughout the business – from Chief Operating Officer Aaron, who raised £500 with a charity boxing match, to company-wide raffles, bake sales and dress down days.
Claire Coe, Corporate Account Manager at Onecom, was nominated for a Physical Challenge of the Year Award for a skydive which saw her raise £950 by descending 10,000 feet over Salisbury in July. Jenni Fradgley, HR Coordinator, was nominated as Charity Champion of the Year.
Ben Dowd, Onecom CEO, said: “Countess Mountbatten Hospice carries out incredible work which many Onecom staff have come into contact with through friends and family.
“We wanted to pull out all the stops throughout the business to support CMHC through individual and team efforts – and we had a lot of fun along the way. We’re delighted that this has been recognised with the partnership award.”
Rachel Ralings, Corporate Engagement and Partnerships Fundraisier for CMHC, said: “Everyone at the Hospice is incredibly grateful to the staff at Onecom for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout 2018. The whole team went above and beyond in their fundraising efforts, and a huge number of staff took part in one way or another. We’re so pleased to be able to thank them in this small way for all the work that they’ve put in.”
Onecom provides communications services for nearly 100,000 businesses in the UK, operating from its head office in Hampshire and 10 regional offices around the UK.
