McEwan’s dynamism had been a key attraction of the deal to Nine Group. “Comms One have really impressed us,” commented Nine Group CEO James Palmer. “Paul has set up a very focused business, recruited a great team of people and achieved substantial market traction in a very short time. Paul and I have known each other since his days at Energis and it’s obvious to me that Paul is very committed to the Reseller Channel.’’
Confirming that McEwan will stay on as part of the deal, Palmer stated, “Nine plans to combine the Nine Wholesale Channel Development Team and the Comms One Channel Account Team under Paul’s leadership, recognising that the combined business skill sets are more substantial than either business separately.”
Paul McEwan commented, “This is a great deal for Comms One and our customers. Nine Group has been a very active supporter of the Reseller Channel, with their on-going commitment to the FCS and more recently, their work in bringing the problem of telephony fraud to the Channel’s attention via their work with The UK Fraud Forum (TUFF). Comms One’s customers will now have access to Nine’s expansive portfolio of products as well as access to Nine’s industry leading Purple Partner Programme, which provides white label sales material, fully brand-able interactive videos and next generation product sales training.”
