The lucrative deal, which sees Lycamobile continue as West Ham United’s official mobile partner, will provide the company with the opportunity to utilise the Club’s advertising, branding, signage and hospitability rights.
The key objectives of the partnership are to bring Lycamobile closer to one of the UK’s most passionate set of fans, and continued association with one of the world’s most famous competitions, the Barclays Premier League. Through this deal, fans will be able to take advantage of cheaper telecommunications, financial, travel and entertainment products provided by Lycamobile.
It is an exciting time for both East London brands as they embark on ambitious growth plans, with Lycamobile’s continued international expansion and West Ham United’s move to the Olympic stadium in 2016.
West Ham United Vice-Chairman Karren Brady said “We are delighted that Lycamobile has chosen to extend its partnership at such an exciting time for West Ham United. The agreement is another indicator of our growing global appeal, which will only increase further as our exciting move to the Olympic Stadium draws closer.
“It is clear that West Ham has real synergy with Lycamobile as we both share a real commitment to serving the local community. With its impressive global and UK footprint, there are a number of joint opportunities within the local community and international territories which will benefit both our and Lycamobile’s huge following.”
Subaskaran Allirajah, Lycamobile Group Chairman, comments “Our sponsorship of West Ham United Football Club has proved successful for both parties and we are thrilled to be extending our relationship. West Ham United is hugely popular in our key markets, and we are excited to continue work with this fantastic Club and engage closely with its loyal fans. At Lycamobile we are passionate about reaching out to our communities and we hold sports sponsorship close to our hearts as a way to do this. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with West Ham United and wish them the best of luck for the new season.”
