The Manchester-based firm have raised a fantastic £2000 for the hospice, which they chose as their company charity for 2015, and employees have been taking part in many different activities to raise vital funds.
Francis House Children’s Hospice is an amazing charity which provides comfort, rest and fun for children and young adults with life threatening conditions, and their families. The team at Invosys were touched by the work it does and took part in many fundraising activities, including:
•Rough Runner - a 10 mile obstacle course inspired by well-known game shows including Takeshi’s Castle, Wipeout, Gladiator, and Ninja Warrior.
•Spartan Super - a 6 mile course with 20 obstacles, designed to test physical strength and mental resolve
•The Cheshire 3 Peaks Walk. This was 13.75 miles taking in the 3 highest peaks in Cheshire where team members were joined by family and friends
•Manchester Marathon, Berlin Marathon and the Salford Triathlon
The less-sporty members of the team have also taken part in regular clothing collections and “swishing” events, which allow them to donate old clothes and pick up new ones, all in the name of charity, as well as “Bake Off” events and cash collections.
Dan Fish, Human Resources Director at Invosys is one of the organisers of the fund raising.
He said, “It’s a key part of our ethos at Invosys to give something back to the community where we live and work, and we are delighted to be working with Francis House this year. It’s been fantastic to raise much-needed funds for such a worthy cause, as well as good fun, an opportunity to get fit and a great way to team build.”
