Since forming in the heart of Birmingham in 1985, Intercity has expanded its geographical footprint across the UK and into Europe. Intercity’s recent acquisition with leading specialist in cloud communications, Gage Networks, has seen its technology service offering extend further, taking the business into the US and Asia.
Founded by Alan Jackson, the business began as Intercity Mobile, one of the pioneers of the UK mobile phone industry, before a rebrand to Intercity Telecom in 2010. More recently, the business has transitioned to Intercity Technology, reflecting the depth of services the business offers today.
Andrew Jackson, CEO of Intercity Technology comments, "We are thankful for the great relationships that we have formed with our customers and partners over the last 30 years. We have an amazing team throughout the business at Intercity and I am personally very proud of the work they have accomplished and the results achieved over the years, with many of the team having been with us since the business launched in 1985. These relationships and achievements have shaped our history and will guide our future innovation and with 2015 being the fastest growing year in our history, we all look forward to what the next 30 years will bring with great optimism."
Intercity also has a rich history of charitable work, with notable work carried out in partnership with the Acorns Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This notion of giving back to the community continues to this day, with over 75 hours of volunteering, 200 hours of CSR and £5,000 raised for charity already in 2015.
