Intercity Technology announces new divisional structure

Birmingham-based technology business, Intercity Technology, has announced a new divisional structure which will see three new senior appointments, expanding the company’s centres for excellence in communications, cloud and security and managed services.

Intercity Technology has seen significant growth over the past years, diversifying its offer with key acquisitions and its own patented unified communications platform, Touch Technology. The business now employs 190 people across its offices in Birmingham, Oakham, Bolton and Elstree, and has seen strong growth across all technology sectors in its key markets. The introduction of new divisions will allow the business to take a more focused approach, with employees having even greater knowledge of the areas of business they feel passionate about.

Three new Divisional Managing Directors will be appointed, taking responsibility for driving the core operational strategy and objectives within their respective divisions.

Andrew Jackson, CEO at Intercity Technology, commented: “In the fast-moving market of technology, we must ensure we continually evolve. We offer a hugely diverse range of products and services, from mobile to IT security, and this give us the opportunity to offer customers a truly multi-disciplinary service.

“With 70% of our team based in Birmingham, we are passionate about finding and nurturing the best local talent in the Midlands, from new talent progressing on our apprenticeship scheme to senior roles.”

Alongside the new divisional approach, Intercity Technology has announced a new leadership structure, including a number of senior promotions. Charlie Blakemore, Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Group Managing Director, and will be responsible for delivering strategic objectives and business performance. Richard West has been promoted to the Board with responsibility for customer services, product and development teams.
