Home Telecom acquires Bloomtel and OpenFibre customers

Home Telecom has announced it has acquired customers from local operators Bloomtel and OpenFibre.

Home Telecom provides broadband and energy services to estate and letting agents. Its proposition supports tenant agencies for the term of a tenancy, allowing customers to avoid contracts that extend past their occupancy.

Home Telecom said its success in the marketplace has been driven by its ability to offer all available broadband services to the property including TalkTalk, Virgin, BT, Vodafone, Sky, and over twenty of the new local direct fibre to the home operators.

The company described these transactions as strategic acquisitions which mark Home Telecom’s sixth and seventh acquisitions in three years.

OpenFibre is a Hull-based company that previously primarily provided customers with KCom group services. Following this acquisition, customers in the area will have an additional choice of provider.

Bloomtel is based in Hertfordshire and offers broadband, phone and VoIP solutions. It has supported residential and small to medium businesses since 2005.

Nigel Barnett, CEO, Home Telecom (pictured), said, “Home Telecom has a huge opportunity for growth in the coming months, the marketplace has not appreciated that BT have put a stop sell on all analogue copper lines, meaning all households that have a standard telephone which may or may not support broadband is no longer available.

“When occupancy changes or tenants want to upgrade their service a totally new connection has to be connected to the property. This, plus the return of the energy market and the introduction of fibre to the premises means we can reward agents with a significant additional income again. Exciting times ahead.”
