Gavin, who joined HHF in July this year with the aim of optimising the use of the company’s data, will lead a series of best practice seminars for Tableau users from across the Wales and South West.
The first of these events took place on 15th November, with Gavin presenting to 45 Tableau users from organisations including Lloyds Banking Group, Public Health Wales, Boeing and Rolls Royce.
The event was an opportunity for the attendees to share their knowledge and experience on business intelligence, data visualisation and analytics with other Tableau users.
The group discussed ideas and challenges they have encountered regarding business intelligence and Tableau, and plan to meet quarterly to share their ideas for optimising data use.
When joining HHF, Gavin brought more than 10 years’ experience of managerial and database development, specialising in data warehouse architecture and modelling.
As Head of Data, Gavin was tasked with bringing together Henry Howard’s information under one centralised system to allow the company to run more efficiently. Tableau was selected for its ability to support client services whilst facilitating growth.
Gavin said: “As a user of Tableau, we are pleased to share our ideas and insight with leading organisations from across the region. All organisations face challenges when it comes to managing and using their growing reams of data, especially in periods of growth and expansion."
Mark Crook, Chief Operating Officer at HHF added: “At HHF we’ve invested time, talent and energy into ensuring we get the most out of our data, with the help of Tableau, and we are pleased to be able to share this expertise with others.”
