As a business that itself is putting the appropriate measures in place for next year, Daisy Wholesale has offered out its own Head of Compliance Bilal Khan to help demystify GDPR by discussing the actions that Daisy is taking, what it means for the business’ partners and also the effect it will be having on end users’ businesses.
Bilal Khan, Head of Compliance at Daisy Group, states: “GDPR is claiming more and more column inches each day, usually carrying the same “are you ready?” style messaging, but the urgency and understanding of what it actually means are miles apart!
“As service providers, our partners handle customer data day in day out, and us, as their channel provider, have a responsibility when important changes like this are due to come into play – to ensure that they understand what is round the corner and what actions they need to take to protect their business.”
The session which took place at Daisy’s London office on 23 August welcomed seven partners from Daisy Wholesale’s existing partner base.
One of the attendees, Ben Ramsdale from Connect Managed Services commented: “I wanted to improve my knowledge in this area to help me ensure that we are correctly covered. It was very useful. Bilal was very knowledgeable and being able to bounce concerns off him was very handy. I also found the information in-depth enough without being too much or too fast. I certainly would come to another one.”
Following the fantastic feedback from those who attended, the provider is looking at other informative workshops focusing on topics such as MiFID 2 and cybersecurity.
A few weeks ago Comms Business launched its own initiative to educate the Channel about GDPR during the Comms Business Live Stream. Santiago Castro, Keyrus, Lucy Green, Larato, and Deborah Dodson, LogRhythm joined Editor David Dungay to discuss what GDPR means for the Channel.
