They are a UK communications technology business based in Leeds and London and are one of Gamma’s long standing customers. The Technology Group have already pledged £50,000 worth of telephony and internet solutions to help the centre but now they are gaining sponsorships for fundraising activities to help further.
David and Jonathan Marsden, two of the Directors at The Technology Group, will be trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert in the blistering heat, in an effort to raise money for Leeds Mencap - a local charity to the company.
Gamma has taken on the role as principal sponsor for the trek, donating a generous £2,000 in support. Jonathan Marsden, The Technology Group said “I am really impressed with the support Gamma has shown to us, not only in our day to day business activities but now on a more personal level. This is a great example of what can be achieved when partners work together effectively.”
Leeds Mencap is a completely independent charity that was created 62 years ago by and for, the people of Leeds with learning disabilities. They currently help over 250 families on a weekly basis and aim to provide support, advice and practical assistance for the whole family, long term.
The money Gamma have pledged in support of The Technology Group’s campaign will help to complete a specialist activity room in Leeds Mencap’s new purpose-built centre, fitting the room with interactive learning boards. The centre will provide facilities for learning and leisure for people with learning disabilities. A place for local community groups and a new community nursery for local families.
