The national telecommunications provider is asking employees to come dressed in their all whites and to dig deep as they take part in a variety of tennis-related games and fundraising activities.
With the office being transformed throughout with SW19 decorations, there will be table tennis and Wii Sports competitions, strawberries, cream and Pimms cocktails available for those feeling generous on the day.
CEO Piers Daniell said: “We are delighted to host what should be a really fun and activity-filled Wimbledon celebration at our office. Having just completed “10Peaks: The Lakes”, it’s important that we keep momentum going and I’m extremely proud that the team has come up with another creative way to raise money for Place2Be.
Olivia Curno, Director of Fundraising, Place2Be added: “We are delighted that the FluidOne team are prepared to don their tennis whites during Wimbledon week to raise money for Place2Be! Our in-school service supports the mental health of children, their parents and their teachers. One in ten children in the UK has a mental health issue such as anxiety or depression. Our counsellors work in over 280 schools nationwide, ensuring children have someone to turn to when they need it most.”
Place2Be are currently posted in 282 primary and secondary schools across the UK, reaching a school population of 116,000 children. They work tirelessly to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and their families suffering from domestic violence, bullying and bereavement.
Piers continued, “We’ve been fortunate enough to raise over £20,000 since 2015 and hopefully this is another step towards smashing, excuse the pun, this figure in 2017.”
If you would like to donate to Place2Be, you can donate through FluidOne’s Just Giving page. Just Giving is a non for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
