Giant bird puppets, a free hog roast, drinks and ice cream, as well as various games and activities ensured it was a day to remember for the 250 guests that attended a local sports centre, close to the company’s Manchester headquarters.
Even the famous North West rain held off as employees, their children and partners got into the party spirit to enjoy a free day of fun courtesy of Julian.
Face painting, a raffle and a book sale all took place with funds raised in support of Armed Forces Day. The warehouse team won a five-a-side tournament where all players received shopping vouchers just for taking part.
Even though Julian’s official birthday is in October he decided to hold a colourful party in the summer to maximise enjoyment for staff and avoid getting too close to Christmas.
“Nimans is like one big family to me so what better way to celebrate,” he said. “I feel like the Queen, having two birthdays in a year!”
