Anywhere Secure Call has been added to Evolve IP’s Anywhere Product Suite and is designed to ensure organisations can comply with payment card information (PCI) rule changes that come into effect in March.
The new standards look to strengthen the protection of payment card information, with PCI 4.0 requiring organisations to prove they are fully compliant rather than just verbally indicating they are.
In most cases, the existing pause and resume model – where credit card details are not recorded when taking payments over the telephone – will not be fit for purpose.
Anywhere Secure Call uses BroadSource technology to ensure customer payment card details are not stored within recorded voice communications.
The solution automatically directs all transactional voice calls to a designated, PCI-compliant segment of its network.
In the event of a PCI audit, businesses can demonstrate the compliance of this specific component to help simplify the overall process.
Scott Rixon, solutions director, Evolve IP, explained, “Any business that needs to take card payments can just enable Secure Call, from a small florist to a gardening company. It can be as simple or sophisticated as required and can even be plugged into a CRM database to automate the whole process.
“Solutions should work for everyone but currently, that’s not always the case. Some PCI solutions require a minimum deployment of say 50 users which simply isn’t viable for a small business. Equally, other options need to have the ability to scale up to larger enterprises. We even know of some models based on a low cost of entry but then charge higher transaction fees.”
