Rob Clark, managing director of Epson UK and senior VP of Epson Europe described HP’s move as ‘highly advantageous’ to the growth potential of Epson and its channel partners.
“Our award-winning inkjet technology is not the same as HP’s and while they have withdrawn from the business inkjet market in favour of reverting to an old technology, we will continue to support the advantages offered by our proprietary heat-free Precision Core piezo inkjet technology,” Clark said, affirming the company’s promise to ‘remain committed’ to its indirect sales model and technology portfolio.
Clark said that whilst laser technology can make steps toward reducing carbon footprint, these will be ‘incremental, not fundamental’.
He added that Epson’s piezo inkjet technology can answer the need for more sustainable technologies as it requires no heat during the printing process, therefore requiring less energy and generating less CO2.
