Phil Bridge, Managing Director for Western Europe at Kroll Ontrack said: “The main benefit of Freeval for resellers is that it offers a free and quick assessment of clients’ data loss and recovery options, providing an open and transparent service from beginning to end. Our resellers tell us that demand for third party data recovery services continues to grow, but also that having provided the Freeval service via Kroll Ontrack, they go on to sell an additional range of other services. Nine in 10 of our resellers say that their clients purchase additional products and services as a result of working with them on data recovery projects.”
With Freeval resellers can offer a no-obligation evaluation report that is delivered in a matter of hours, to their customers. The report provides advice on what information can be retrieved, what the best course of action would be and what the options are so customers can make an informed decision.
Kroll Ontrack in the UK introduced its Freeval service for smaller devices and drives up to three terabytes in volume in 2013. It made the decision in September 2015 to extend the service to larger devices and multi drives - in response to feedback from customers who wanted to see a broader range of media included in the service - and has since seen a 74% overall increase in requests in the UK alone. 54% of this growth in demand was from resellers.
Phil Bridge continued: “As well as driving extra revenues, offering data recovery services helps to build customer loyalty. More than three quarters of resellers believe that offering data recovery services builds customer loyalty and reduces churn.”
