It means that customers wishing to adopt FTTC in areas where the local exchange has already been fibre-enabled will be able to do so without the need for a BT Openreach engineer to visit; the cost of which can be prohibitive to resellers.
Craig Peterson, Product Manager at Daisy Wholesale, said: “The benefits of FTTC self-install to resellers are clear. The removal of the Openreach engineer from the process means that the installation takes less time and costs less money, with the added bonus of bringing the reseller closer to the customer because they can manage the whole process end to end.
Daisy Wholesale is working with three resellers on the trial, which will run for three months from 14 August, and is among several aggregators and ISPs involved.
