Conferencing tools allow organisations to respond to heatwave

The rising temperatures across the UK are causing some organisations to rely on remote collaborative conferencing tools so they can prioritise the health of their employees.

According to GoTo, organisations can respond to extreme temperatures through allowing employees to work from home, where possible, to avoid travelling to offices during heatwaves.

Sion Lewis, general manager, EMEA, GoTo, explained, “With rising temperatures continuing to soar across the UK, the language surrounding remote work has transitioned from convenience to necessity. Against the backdrop of the raging heatwave and official health warnings, employees should not have to endure scorching commutes, with slower services and expected delays.

“Luckily, organisations no longer have to choose between work productivity and the safety of their staff due to the uptake of digitalisation and remote work tools that can encourage collaboration and support from anywhere. Finding this balance is critical to maintaining a positive culture at businesses where employees feel valued and supported by their employers, which should be imperative to any organisation.”

With the likelihood of extremely hot days in the UK increasing and predicted to continue to rise during this century, channel companies can guide their customers through their options to help their businesses remain productive in future heatwaves.
