The Inspire Business Awards celebrates the success of Hampshire based businesses. Growing in popularity, with sponsors from some of the largest UK and global businesses, this year saw a larger number of nominations ever.
Winning the this award is great recognition for Paul who is the driving force behind Southern Communications impressive growth from a turnover of just £100k in 1995 to £15m today, making it one of the largest independent telecoms and data resellers in the UK. Paul said “We recently won a National Comms Award and now to win Entrepreneur of the Year feels like a vindication of all the hard work of the past 15 years.”
“Southern Communications has shown great growth over the past 15years and have aggressive targets for the next 5years – which we absolutely will achieve. There is never one person in a company – okay I am passionate about it and lead from the front – but I’m accepting this award for me and all the staff at Southern Communications because we’re all entrepreneurial.”
Paul led a management buyout of Southern Communications in 2002. Three years later the company moved and deployed an aggressive growth strategy. Since then his clear vision, out-of-the-box thinking and dynamic leadership skills have led the Company through the adoption and deployment of new technologies, products and services. In 2008 and 2009 the Company was listed in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 and it has continued to grow from strength to strength.
Developing strong relations with customers and suppliers alike, Southern Communications is accredited by a number of manufacturers and is one of only 3 NEC Premier Business partners in the UK and has a key relationship with TalkTalk Business for Calls and lines and data connectivity services to thousands of customers across the UK.
Paul’s mission is to grow Southern Communications to deliver a turnover of £50m+ in the next 3-5years and help his SME customer base level the playing field with their larger enterprise customers through the effective use of communications technology.
