MEF, the Global Community for Mobile Content and Commerce, revealed the finalists back in August. With more entries than ever before in 13 categories, from over 35 countries across all five continents, the 2012 Meffys mark the breadth, scale, maturity and continued innovation of the mobile industry. This year, the awards organisers claim, it received a record level of interest from 35 countries, with 25% coming from start-ups.
The Meffy Innovation for Technology award recognises technical innovation in mobile content or commerce and nominees are required to demonstrate that their solution overcomes existing technical barriers to drive the take-up of mobile content or commercial applications. Calltrunk was able to demonstrate strong technical and commercial innovation, a quality user experience and a sustainable business model to see off competition and win this coveted award.
Angela Clarke, COO and co founder of Calltrunk who collected the award said ‘We are delighted to receive recognition from the Meffy judging panel for innovation in technology; the whole team here at Calltrunk has worked tirelessly to deliver product excellence and a great user experience – it’s been a great evening for us all’.
