The agreement sees Yealink becoming an approved manufacturer to supply BT Wholesale and covers the company’s established SIP-T41P, SIP-T46G, SIP-T48G SIP handsets and W52P SIP DECT model.
BT Wholesale is the first of the BT Group subsidiaries to benefit from the new deal which sees Yealink models featuring within its white label Hosted IP Centrex offering. This product, wholesale hosted centrex, was launched in August 2014 following an agreement struck with Broadsoft which gives the wholesaler access to the BroadWorks® Hosted Unified Communications platform.
Marc Timmermans, Director of products for Hosted Communication services at BT Wholesale commented: “This was a complex tender which assessed a number of technical, performance and stylistic measures.
“Yealink demonstrated reliability, functionality, aesthetic design and close and proven integration with Broadsoft. These handsets will become an integral element of our Hosted IP Centrex offer.”
Describing the BT Wholesale contract as a significant milestone in the company’s history, Yealink UK’s general manager Steve Watts said: “We’re delighted to have secured a contract which is set to deliver significant sales volumes and further raise the profile of the Yealink brand in the UK. We’re exceptionally proud that we’ve secured such significant business with what is the UK’s pre-eminent telecommunications company.”
News of the contract follows Yealink’s success in securing impressive market penetration, both in the UK and internationally. Now marketed in over 140 countries Yealink claims to be the world’s second SIP telephony brand whilst in the UK it has secured year on year growth of 50 percent since the turn of the decade.
